Creating the scenery, part 1

Hello again!

As promised, I present you the first look of my new battlefield. Please check the Battle Scenery section for more details and pictures!

The board is set... it is time to make it colorful!

Hello everyone,I am proud to announce that my Sector Imperialis: Warzone Alpha set I ordered had arrived on Friday, but since I was away there was little time to work on it. Right now I'm working on the buildings, planning out their setup so that I can create an awesome looking battlefield. For now I have assembled the Shrine of the Aquila and one of the Basilica Administratum sets. They are not ready yet however, because I plan to paint them fist before assembling them completely. I should have some pictures today or tomorrow to show you. When I do so, please leave a feedback on the colours and assembly.

Battle Strategies: Chapter 1 continues

Hello again, after a break I present you another instalment of the Battle strategies series. It contains part two, describing the possibilities of using a Fast Attack choice in the Ghostly Host. I have also revised some of the points I made in part 1 due to 7th edition rules. I hope that you'll enjoy your reading. Consider it a revise before the next part: the Heavy Support Chioces. Please submit your comments and let me know what you think of it!

The Eternal Struggle continues

With each day passed, the eldar near more and more to the inevitable. Desperate times require desperate measures. With the rules for new edition released, the image of my ghost warriors may become even more complete than before. The new rules for psychic phase allow me to use the potential of my Wraithfighter to the limit. In addition to Eldrad, two spiritseers and some warlocks will help me with what I plan: to crush the enemy not only with the constructs but summoned deamons as well! The background for this is simple. I present you a short story:
Long time ago had Eldrad mastered a way to bend the foul creatures of the warp to his will. Thanks to his exceptional skill and a lifetime experience, he can safely manipulate the energies of the warp to summon the minions of She, Who Thirsts. The only difficulty he had with using them is the fact that all eldar fear those deamons so much, that they start panicking on the battlefield. Thus Eldrad now is feared by his own kind and had become even less welcome aboard all other craftwolrds. All but one. Eldrad believes, that only the Dying Flame in the Darkness, the Eternal Flame of Asurian can provide him the means to fulfill his only goal: the destruction of the Great Enemy. Two Spiritseers, residing within the Ghost Halls, along with a handful of warlocks understand the plan Eldrad has. Becoming plucked deeper and deeper into the Infinity Circuit every time they summon the dead to fight for them, their emotions had bleached. Fear, love and passion have long lost their true meaning becoming empty, hollow and meaningless words. They fear the Great Enemy no more. Thanks to this, the constructs they command submit to the will of the Spiritseers more easily, further strenghtening Eldrad's cause. Beyond the great halls of the craftworlds, a silent alliance between craftworlds Ulthwe and Iyanden has been forged. An alliance, that shall end the days of running and start a new era and the once powerful race will take back their place as the undisputed masters of the galaxy.

I already had bought some deamonettes. They are assembled and await painting along with some of the eldar stuff. I shall submit some pictures ofthem soon.

Introspections upon perfection

Having read a certain post on Warhammer40k: Play Like a Girl I come to think of the same in my community and sadly, I find it to be a problem there too... Lots of people are complaining about codices, prices, rules and combos that people employ. It's all part of human nature: we instinctively despise something, that's beyond our control. But there's one thing I cannot understand and probably never will: to judge a player based solely on the army he's currently playing. It happened to me a few times too. I was met with unpleasantly offensive opinions just because I am playing Eldar. Only when I showed them the previous codex and got some support from my friends, people started to look more friendly at me. In the end we even laughed from some sick combos that Eldar are able to make and some ideas to counter them.

As my Iyanden collection is nearly complete, I'm thinking of starting a new army more and more frequently. There are three armies I'm interested in: Dark Eldar, Chaos Daemons and Adepta Sororitas.

The first army is really challenging to play with, but my friend already has them so I wouldn't want to double the armies but, on the other hand, they would make an formidable ally for my Iyanden as they helped the Craftworld many times over.

Adepta Sororitas has always been one of my favorites, but the current prices of the models is something that scares me off right now. They have a great codex though...

Chaos Daemons, especially She Who Thirsts, are... alluring. They would make an excellent addition to my project that I plan to use in this blog: the ancient struggle for survival of the Eldar race.

Let me know what you think! Please comment and share your ideas and thoughts!

Battle Strategies: Chapter 2, Part 1 is ready!

Greetings to you all!

As promised, I present the next chapter of my Battle Strategies:

Chapter 2: Moving around the army composition (Part 1)

In this chapter, I will try to convince you, that if you want to play effectively with an Iyanden army, you can do so without using any Aspects. First part covers the HQ and Troops review, where I put some comments on how do I use them and what role does each unit have on the battlefield. If you're interested in it, you can find it in the Battle Strategies section! Please comment and tell your friends about it if you liked it!

Another paint in the hall...

Due to loads of work at the University I lacked time to post over the past month. Luckily, as I said earlier, I found some time to paint some new models. This time, I present you my Wave Serpent, First out of four, that has been finished. You can see the results in Painting and Modelling section.

Painting Wraithblades Goes On...

Hello everyone,
It has been quite a while since I posted something on the blog but I have been very busy lately with my exams. This week seems to be more easy-going than the previous ones, so I managed to find some time and decided to work on my Wraithblades some more. I really need to move on with the painting, so that I mat take part in a major event that will be in April. There's a lot to do and very little time, but I'm hoping to finish it by the end of March. I updated the entry in the Painting and Modelling section.

An insight into my army: Part 1

As promised, I've posted an article describing my army. You can find it in the 'My army of Ghost Warriors So far there is little to be proud if it comes to painting, but much to be proud of when it comes to battles and tournaments.

A New Year, A New Post

Hello everyone,
after the X-mas break I got myself fully into writing. I've almost finished another article I've been working on since last year. It should be ready by Saturday evening. The post will give you some insight into my collection of miniatures. Not everything is finished and painted, but I want to show you what I've managed to gather through all those years of playing both Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Fantasy Battle.
I wish you all best in the newly began year.
